JAMMU, May 22: Akhil Bhartiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh (ABSMS) today demanded regularization of the daily wagers and casual labourers engaged with the Floriculture Department for the last 18 years.
Addressing a press conference, Dev Anand Gill, secretary, Akhil Bhartiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh (ABSMS), said that the casual labourers engaged in the Floriculture Department were not regularized till date.
The casual labourers were working in the department for the last 18 years, but were not regularized till date, which shows the apathy of the Government towards them, Gill said.
“As per Government rule, those who have completed 240 days as casual/daily labourer, should be regularized, but these workers were not regularized till date, due to which the family members of these casual labourers are facing hardships”, he added.
He demanded immediate regularization of the casual labourers and daily wagers engaged in the Floriculture Department at the earliest.
Among others present were Parshotam Lal, Jyoti Sharma, Bharat Rattan, Datar Singh, Santosh Kumari, Ashok Kumar, etc.
