ABVP blocks road, fast unto death enters 22nd day

KATHUA, Apr 21: ABVP Kathua Colllege Unit held a demonstration after boycotting classes and blocked movement of vehicular traffic on College road for 45 minutes today demanding CBI probe into Rassana murder case.
The protesters raising slogans criticized the Government for maintaining a stoic silence over the issue and not handing over the case to CBI for probe as is being demanded by the people of Jammu region.
The protestors said that this is the only way to give justice to the minor girl whose cold blooded murder has sent shock waves every where and not satisfied with the CB probe the people are demanding handing over of the case to CBI to arrest the real culprits and bring facts to light leading the murder and kidnapping of the minor girl.
The protestors said that the sentiments of the people be honoured in this regard and the political parties should also take an initiative and pressurize the Government to hold the CBI probe.
However, they later lifted the road blockade and dispersed after the intervention of the police who assured them that they will put their demand before the concerned quarters.
Meanwhile, the fast unto death at Koota Morh by the activists of area including the women of Rassana village entered 22nd day today. The protestors are demanding handing over of the case to CBI to give justice to the poor girl who was murdered in January this year and whose body was thrown in Rassana jungles.
Raj Kumar one of the protestors at Koota said that the people are not satisfied with CB probe which has implicated the villagers and hence the CBI probe has become mandatory to bring facts to light. He said whosoever was found guilty and involved in the crime should not be spared but no innocent at the same time should be harmed.
He warned that the present agitation will continue till the demand is conceded. He said the CB charge sheet has created many doubts in the minds of people and hence the probe by a more competent body is necessary.
Meanwhile, the condition of Ashok Kumar who was also sitting on fast unto death at Koota Morh deteriorated today and he was hospitalized. He was taken to Sub District Hospital Hiranagar for treatment. He was replaced by another youth of the area.
