JAMMU, July 9: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) celebrated its 67th Foundation Day, here today.
The programme started with the hosting of ABVP flag by state secretary Varsha Gupta. The new unit of ABVP Jammu Mahanagar was also announced. Prakash Anthal, who was the Chief Election Officer nominated Govind Sharma and Deepak Gupta as City President and City Secretary respectively.
Later, the whole unit was announced by City President Govind Sharma in which Dr Arti Sharma and Bhaskar Jamwal were nominated as Vice Presidents, Brigu Sharma, Piyush Khajuria, Bhavna Bharti, Pulkit Charangoo and Sunny Parihar as joint secretaries, Raman Sharma as cashier, Anjil Singh as office secretary, Sunil Choudhary as SFD Incharge, Dr Anil as agrivision incharge, Vaatsalya Singh as girls incharge, Naina Dogra as girls joint incharge, Mriudul as technical cell incharge, Akash Sharma as media incharge, Akruti, Padamja, Nikhil, Tarseh, Abhishek, Piyush, Rohan, Simranjeet and Siddhant as executive members.
The chief guest of the programme was Danish Rana, IGP Jammu, while Anil Padha was the programme convener and State Organising Secretary ABVP Shailendra Tiwari was the special guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, IGP Danesh Rana distributed certificates and medals to the winners of Sunil Padha Gyan Memorial Pratyogita and Personality Development Camp conducted by ABVP Jammu Mahanagar. Rana also apprised the students and ABVP activists about the drug addiction prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir.
Shailender Tiwari threw light on the working of ABVP in developing student leadership and social awareness on various issues of national importance.
