JAMMU, June 1: Expressing concern over the deteriorating condition of educational system in the State, ABVP has stressed on establishment of State Education Commission (SEC) to improve the same.
To this effect a resolution was passed in the three days National Executive meeting of ABVP which concluded here today. Over 400 activists of the ABVP across the country attended the meet and deliberated over various issues pertaining to country and student community and their career.
This was stated by ABVP national general secretary, Vinay Bidre while giving the details of three day National Executive meet of the organization which concluded here yesterday. The ABVP State Vice president Raghav Sharma and State secretary Varsha Gupta were also present during the press conference.
Maintaining that unemployment was one of the causes of unrest in the State, ABVP said that number of registered unemployed in the State is six lakh of which 2,80,285 are in Jammu while 3,21,562 are in Kashmir and Ladakh areas. It urged both Central and State Governments to implement policies to development of new tourist spots in the State, especially in Ladakh.
Terming the recent situation in JNU and Hyderabad Universities very dangerous, Mr Bidre said this has shaken the entire nation and the forces behind this drama were fully exposed before the people of the country. He warned that such elements will not be tolerated any more and they will be shown their real place.
He said ABVP will launch a nation-wide agitation against these forces and expose them before the public as by shouting anti national slogans their real face has come before the public and they have been unmasked.
Making a scathing attack on Leftists he said they have made a monopoly in some universities like JNU, Central University Hyderabad and with this high drama they stand totally exposed now. ABVP is duty bound to launch a nationalist movement in the country and caution countrymen in general and student community in particular asking them to take on such forces.
Highlighting the resolutions adopted in the three day long NE meet at Jammu which started on May 29 and concluded on May 31, he said ABVP firmly believes that awareness for social sensitization and nationalism should be included in curriculum of universities and major reforms should be initiated in university administrations so that students take pride in national icons, personalities and culture.
Besides, it demanded that Indian spiritual education should be added in curriculum. The NEC has also urged the Central Government that universities be made a centre for nation building and social change and for this purpose sufficient funds be provided.
Through another resolution Union Government was urged to bring Central law immediately to prevent commercialization of education and it resolved not to rest till education from KG level to PG level is freed from commercialization.
It condemned the anti -national activities undertaken by Communists and separatist elements in prestigious educational institutions like JNU, University of Hyderabad, Jadavpur University and National Institute of Technology, Srinagar (Kashmir).
It also favoured and vowed to work for all round development and upliftment of SC/ST students, supported developmental process in J&K which can be major CBM for brining peace and prosperity, removal of irregularities in Medical education by punishing the corrupt elements and protection of environment.
The ABVP appealed the youth who are the future of the nation to take a solemn oath to protect the environment.
