ABVP holds protest, projects demands

JAMMU, Oct 15: Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Jammu Mahanagar held protest against the Higher Education Department and Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
The activists of ABVP assembled at Ranbir Library Chowk Parade and burnt their mark sheets of class 12th.
The protestors were demanding increase in intake capacity of all the affiliated colleges of Cluster University of Jammu, increase in seats in Under Graduate general courses, refund fees to all the rejected forms of 1st Sem admission, give authority to all the Principals regarding admission and intake capacity and open admissions for bi-annual 12th recently qualified students through relaxation.
While talking to media persons, ABVP Jammu Mahanagar Secretary Akshay Pardhan said that the universities are playing with the future of the students. He said with the passage of time Universities increases their infrastructure, intake capacity and seats, but Cluster University of Jammu is decreasing the seats day by day.
“It is very unfortunate that in this pandemic situation where the students community are suffering a lot, the attitude of the administration towards students is wretched”, he said, adding that if the demands of the students are not fulfilled, ABVP will go further and will take the way of protest.
While speaking, Girls Incharge Chahat Anand said that the Cluster University is only interested in playing with the future of the students.
Later, ABVP constituted “Andolan Samiti” for next 15 days. The samiti will organize different type of activities like Satbudhi Yagya, Shav Yatra, etc. The samiti comprises of 10 members including Akshay Pardhan as Convener and Chahat Anand, Rishab Bali and Chitwan Bali as Co-conveners. Prominent members of the samiti are Hari Om, Anchal Rana, Tandeep Singh, Aman Bahu, Himanshu Sharma, Arun and Aman Jandyal.
The samiti was framed in the presence of UT Secretary ABVP Jammu and Kashmir Mukesh Manhas.
