JAMMU, Feb 27: Agitated over no positive action on their demands, Jammu University unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad today protested against the university administration.
ABVP was demanding building for girls hostel, proper cleanliness in toilets, free bus facility for the students coming from the old campus of the university to the main campus, renovation of hostel infrastructure, refund of extra fee charged for hostel, etc.
The protesting ABVP activists assembled outside the office of Dean Students Welfare and then marched towards – Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat in the form of a procession.
Shouting slogans, the protesting students alleged that the university authorities were giving them false fake promises for one and half years over their demand but did nothing. ABVP JU warned indefinite protest if the university administration does not resolve the issues and problems immediately.

Later, the ABVP delegation also met the JU Vice Chancellor Prof Umesh Rai over their demands.
ABVP President of JU unit, Sahil Choudhary said that the Vice Chancellor has assured to soon release the Student Aid Fund while the extra hostel fees will also be refunded. He claimed that the VC has assured early action on their other demands also.
