JAMMU, Nov 8: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad today held a strong protest against the National Conference’s recent resolution allegedly aimed at restoring Article 370 to Jammu & Kashmir.
The protest by ABVP Jammu University unit, held outside the university campus, witnessed the students shouting slogans against the National Conference and calling for the protection of the Union Territory’s integrity.
ABVP State Secretary Akshi Billowria, in her statement, strongly condemned the 370 resolution, arguing that it would undermine the integration of Jammu & Kashmir with the rest of India. “The proposal to reinstate special status is a regressive step that disregards the aspirations of the youth and the progress we have made in recent years. We, the students of ABVP Jammu University, stand united in our commitment to national unity and oppose any effort to reverse the gains achieved after the abrogation of Article 370”, she said.
State Joint Secretary Sannak Shrivats said that the resolution seeking reinstatement of Articles 370 and 35A undermines national unity and contradicts the aspirations of the youth. “We stand for a united India and will resist any attempts to revive divisive laws. We urge the Government to prioritise progress and development over retrograde politics,” he added.
JU unit Vice President Chaitanya Magotra emphasised that ABVP would continue to resist any attempts to divide the region or restrict the constitutional rights of citizens. The protest concluded with a pledge to uphold national unity, with students vowing to remain vigilant against any policies perceived as divisive or regressive.
ABVP Jammu University called upon all youth and citizens to join in opposing the resolution, reaffirming their stance on a united, progressive Jammu & Kashmir.
ABVP Joint Secretary Sanak Shrivats, JU vice president Chataniya and other ABVP leaders also addressed the protest demonstration spoke on the occasion.
