JAMMU, May 19: A delegation of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad activists , led by ABVP president of Jammu University unit, Lokinder Singh , called on Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh and sought his intervention to restart the recruitment process of Assistant Professors in the State, which is caught in the row of controversy for more than six months.
The ABVP delegation appraised the DyCM about the constant delay in recruitment process due to denial of MSP to concerned PhD candidates by both universities of Jammu and Kashmir. The delegation explained that the officials of JU and University of Kashmir were saying off late that till date UGC. report is published officially, they will not issue the MSP. Even as UGC report was officially published in Gazette of India on May 10 2016, nothing has been said by officials of both the universities and this has become the cause of suspense and confusion among the aspirants, they added.
Lokinder Singh said that more than 8000 NET/ SET/ PhD Candidates have applied and among these many of the aspirants are getting over aged which has become a cause of distress and worry.
The delegation informed that recently Bihar PSC went ahead with the recruitment process as per current UGC guidelines and the selection list of Assistant Professors was declared by Bihar PSC.
The ABVP delegation urged the Dy CM to take up the matter with the Chief Minister, Minister of Higher Education, JKPSC and the officials of concerned universities to show utmost urgency to deal with the matter.
The DyCM assured the delegation that the process of recruitment will start very soon and there is no possibility of re-advertising these posts again which was also the cause of concern for the delegation.
The delegation comprised of Skalzee Dorjey, Sumit, R P Sharma, Jagmohan Sharma, and Richa Sharma.
