ABVP urges EC to set up polling centre in Jammu for Ladakhi students

JAMMU, Apr 27:  Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad has appealed the Election Commission to make arrangements for voting by the Ladakhi students who are studying in Jammu and other places outside the Ladakh.
A meeting of the ABVP was held today under the chairmanship of State president Dr Virender Kundal who drew the attention of Election Commission towards around 10,000 Ladakhi students, who are studying in Jammu, Chandigarh and other States. As the road link to Leh is closed, these students would not be able to cast their vote on May 7 when polling for Ladakh Parliamentary seat is going to be held, he explained and appealed the Election Commission to set up polling centres in Jammu for these students.
Demanding a full-fledged University in Ladakh keeping in view of geographical conditions of the region, the ABVP also announced to launch a struggle for the same very soon.
A number of students from Leh and Kargil also took part in the meeting.
