JAMMU, July 17: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad Jammu Kashmir today expressed its deep concern over the delay in commencement of the new academic session at Universities and affiliated Colleges due to the postponement of Common Universities Entrance Test CUET results.
“CUET, introduced from last year as a common entrance exam for undergraduate admissions in universities, was scheduled declare results by June 30th. However, irregularities in the exams led to delays, causing a domino effect on the admission process,” said ABVP, in a statement, issued here today.
The UGC’s revised timeline of July 25th for results declaration, followed by a month-long admission process, indicates a probable one-month delay in the commencement of the academic session, added the statement.
State secretary Akshi Billowria has strongly urged the National Testing Agency to expedite the CUET result declaration process, ensuring transparency and fairness.
“This delay has disrupted the academic calendar, causing undue stress and anxiety among students who are eager to begin their studies,” she added and called upon the UGC to instruct universities to streamline their admission procedures to minimise further delays.
State Joint Secretary Sannak Shrivats emphasised the importance of smooth and timely commencement of the academic session. A one-month delay due to mismanagement of NTA not only disrupts the current academic year but also puts future semesters at risk, he said.
ABVP Jammu Kashmir has urged the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to ensure a swift and fair CUET result declaration process, followed by a streamlined admission process at universities and affiliated colleges.
