JAMMU, June 12: Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust today inaugurated its 12th Academic Camp.
Fifty-six girls from classes 8th to 10th belonging to rural and border areas joined the camp. Free boarding and lodging facilities are provided to the students during the camp.
VK Jain, donor and supporter inaugurated the camp.
HBET is providing educational support and financial assistance to children of needy families from the far flung rural areas since 1997. Every year new children are selected for scholarships and free tuitions. Government school children from class 1st to 3rd can apply.
The camp is very fruitful for the students where intensive academic coaching on their syllabus will be imparted to them. They will also receive lectures on life skills development, attend educational excursions, picnics, evaluation tests. Regular health checkups are also done by the doctors. Besides their academic education they will also take part in yoga and sports activities for physical fitness.
Additionally, the Trust also arranges counselling sessions with the Psychology Department of Jammu University to analyze the impact of camp on them.
These children have come with their parents and guardians from villages such as Arnia, Jourian, Gurah Slathia, Ranjari and other areas to join the camp.
The Managing Trustee, informed the participants about the objectives of the camp and the need for everyone to make the best use of this opportunity to improve their academic and physical standards with their overall development.
