SRINAGAR, Oct 4: Advisor to Chief Minister, Prof. Amitabh Mattoo today chaired a high level meeting on Knowledge Initiative in Higher Education and Primary Education at SKICC here.
During the daylong meeting, the advisor interacted with all the Principals of Degree Colleges from Kashmir Division and heads from various private schools, Government schools, heads of DIETs and SIE of Kashmir division.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Education, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, Vice Chancellor Cluster University Dr. Sheikh Javid and other officials from Education Department.
Prof. Matto called the Principals of colleges and schools as the campus leaders and said that they are the people who work on ground for imparting education to students.
He said it is imperative to consult academicians before the incorporation of integrated courses or about the start of new courses in the curriculum.”
He stressed upon the heads for helping the Government in formulating the education structure so that students after finishing students can avail various jobs in the market.
Prof. Mattoo said that students should be trained and motivated from the early stages of their classes for various research programmes in their respective fields.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hassan Samoon said that the purpose to hold this meeting was get the suggestion and understand from academicians as how to improve education system in the State.
It was decided in the meeting that the J&K colleges be connected with the NITs in the State, linkage between Colleges and schools, exchange programs of faculty from outside the State.
