Jammu, June 26: The Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today announced the annual State Art Awards.
The awards were recommended by a Committee of Experts and approved by the President of the Academy Chief Minister.
The first award carrying a cash prize of Rs. 51000 went to Satpal Deol for his painting ‘untitled-Acrylic on canvas” and Zameer Ahmad for his painting the Real Life – Acrylic on Canvas in Artist category.
In student caegory the awards went to Kaneesh Panotra for his sculpture ‘sketch Book -stone (sculpture) and Khursheed Ahmad for his painting Fantasy-Colograph” carrying cash prize of Rs. 10000. The awards will be presented to the awardees in a function to be organised in Srinagar very soon.
