JAMMU, Dec 9: The results of Jammu Annual Drama Festival 2018 were announced here today by Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL), Dr. Aziz Hajini.
In a press conference Dr Hajini informed that adjudicators in this Fest were Ravi Kemmu, Dr. Om Goswami and Susham Sharma.
Announcing the prizes in various categories he said that best production award was given to Macbeth (Natraj Natya Kunj) while the second best production award was given to Gudia Azad (Naqab Rang Manch).
He further said that best set award was given to ‘Written In His Diary’ by Prashant Sareen; best lights award was given to Macbeth (Aditya Bharati); best director to Macbeth (Abhishek Bharati); best actor to ‘Adhe Adhure’ (Omesh Singh); best make up to ‘Nag Mandala’ (Shammi Dhamir); best music to Macbeth (Abhishek Bharati); best actress to ‘Adhe Adhure’ (Kanchi Khajuria); best child artist to ‘Adhe Adhure’ (Garima Sharma) and best costume award was given to ‘Nag Mandala’ (Pooja Dutta).
Dr Hajini also informed that consolations prizes for Make-up was given to ‘Adhe Adhure’ (Kamal Sharma); for Direction to ‘Gudia Azad’ (Rohit Verma); for Costume to ‘Kunju Chanchilloo’ (Anil Sharma/ Devankshi); for Music to ‘Kanoon Shikan’ (Visharad Dalmotra); second best actor consolation prize was given to ‘Nachey Gee Saree Raat’ (Javed Gill) and ‘Ek Aur Durghatna’ (Sunil Sharma) while the second best actress award was given to ‘Adhe Adhure’ (Ayushi Khajuria) and ‘Nachey Gee Saree Raat’ (Neha Raina).
The adjudicators also recommended certificates of merit to Balwander Singh (Tandav), Dilshad Ahmad (Kanoon Shikan), Sandeep Sharma (Karam Ghati), Vinay Pandita (Gad Batha), Sahil Sharma (Shah Shaheeni), Kanav Sharma (Macbeth), Aparna Sharma (Kuleshney), Amar Chouhan (Kunju Chanchlo), Neha Lahotra (Shah Shaheeni), Kusum Tickoo (Saman Bal), Sapna Soni (Doosra Admi Doosri Aurat), Sonum Sharma (Pishach Yatra), Rajni Bhatti (Tandav), Channpreet Kour (Oedipus), Gurmeet Jamwal (Sir Sir Sarla), Meera Tapsvi (Tandav), Anjali (Gudia Azad) and Niharika Sakshi (Macbeth).
Dr. Hajini also said that Academy is exploring the possibility of organizing national theatre festival in the State in the month of February, 2019 with the support of National School of Drama.
