SRINAGAR, Nov 3: Anti-Corruption Bureau today arrested Showkat Ahmad Lone, Patwari Halqa Hari Ganwan Gund Ganderbal for accepting bribe for issuance of documents pertaining to inheritance.
The accused was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2000 from the complainant who had lodged a written complaint alleging that the said Patwari was demanding bribe for affecting the Inheritance Mutation (Warasati Intiqal) of land in his favour.
On receipt of the complaint, case FIR number 33/2021, under section 7 PC Act 1988 was registered in Police Station ACB Srinagar and a trap team was constituted. The team laid a successful trap and caught red-handed Showkat Ahmad Lone, Patwari Halqa Hari Ganwan Gund, Ganderbal while demanding and accepting the bribe money from the complainant.
He was arrested and taken into custody by ACB Team. Further investigation into the case is going on.
