ACB books former TSOs, others

JAMMU, Jan 7: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) booked Mohammad Ashraf and Pranav Gandotra, former TSOs Kalakote for misappropriation of kerosene oil.
As per official spokesman, a case FIR Number 5/19 under Section 5(1)(c), 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) of J&K PC Act Svt 2006 has been registered at Police Station ACB Jammu today against Mohammad Ashraf, Pranav Gandotra then TSOs Kalakote and others.
The case was registered on the basis of joint surprise check conducted by ACB regarding allegation of huge pilferage of kerosene oil which had taken place in Traith area of Kalakote in district Rajouri, the spokesman said, adding that verification conducted by the ACB revealed that 263680 litres of kerosene oil had been shown allotted to the dealers of Triath and adjoining areas.
“However, the dealers had received only 1,77,000 litres of kerosene oil for its distribution to the ration card holders of the area, whereas 86680 litres of kerosene oil allotted to dealers of Triath and adjoining areas was misappropriated by above mentioned accused persons by misuse and abuse of their official position for pecuniary gains, thereby depriving the genuine beneficiaries of their quota of kerosene oil and also caused loss amounting to Rs 23,95,401 to the State exchequer.
On the prima-facie establishment of allegations, the case under relevant section of law has been registered at Police Station ACB Jammu and investigation has been taken up.
