SRINAGAR, Nov 26: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has produced the charge-sheet against the then Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Budgam RK Bhat and beneficiary Mian Mohammad Mujtaba in the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption here.
As per official spokesman, a case under FIR Number 30/2015 was registered at Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir (Now ACB Kashmir) against the then ACR Budgam RK Bhat and beneficiary Mian Mohammad Mujtaba.
“On the outcome of an enquiry, which revealed that the officers and officials of Revenue Department of district Budgam by abuse and misuse of their official position as public servants conferred undue pecuniary benefit upon the illegal occupants of State land by arbitrarily fixing the price of land i.e. lower than the prevailing market rate of the area, incorrect application of rates and unauthorized change of classification of land from residential to agricultural etc”, the spokesman added.
He informed that the investigation conducted and the evidence collected revealed that the then Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Budgam and the beneficiary have deliberately, fraudulently and with criminal intention committed the offences under Section 5(1) d, r/w 5(2) J&K P.C. Act, 120/B RPC.
“After completion of investigation, the Government was moved for sanction by ACB. Sanction of prosecution was granted by Government for launching prosecution against Government servant”, he added.
