Srinagar, Feb 14: The Anti-Corruption Bureau today trapped and arrested Principal Government Degree College Pattan in Srinagar for accepting bribe.
An official said that Professor Tariq Ashai who is the Principal of GDC Pattan, was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 60, 000 at SP College Srinagar.
He said that on receipt of the complaint, a FIR was registered, under Section Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in Police Station ACB North Kashmir and investigation was taken up.
A trap team was laid and they sleuths caught Tariq Ashai while accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000 on the spot in presence of independent witnesses.
The official was taken to Police Station ACB in Srinagar and further investigation into the matter is going on.
In another trap case, the ACB arrested a PDD employee in Budgam district for accepting bribe.
Javid Ahmad Najar, MR Technician 3rd Sheikhpora PDD, was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2000 in Budgam.
The official said that on receipt of the complaint, a FIR was registered, under Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in Police Station ACB Central Kashmir and investigation was taken up.
A trap team was constituted and Najar was caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 2000 on the spot in presence of independent witnesses.
