ACB nabs R&B employee taking bribe

SRINAGAR, July 6: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today trapped and arrested an employee of Roads and Buildings Department on charges of bribery.
An official of the ACB said that one Ghulam Nabi Wani was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 28000 at Bandipora.
He said that on receipt of the complaint, an FIR was registered, under Section 7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in Police Station ACB North wing and investigation was taken up.
“Accordingly a trap team was constituted. The trap team laid a successful trap and caught Ghulam Nabi Wani of R&B Department Bandipora while accepting a bribe of rupees 28000 on the spot. The bribe money was recovered in presence of independent witnesses,” he said.
The officer was taken to Police Station and further investigation into the matter is going on.
