Accident victim succumbs, 8 hurt in mishaps

SRINAGAR, Jan 16: Eight persons were injured in different road accidents across the Kashmir valley while as a person who was injured in a road accident succumbed to his injuries.
Sameer Ahmad Parna, son of Mohammad Yousuf resident of Banihal, who was injured in collision between a truck and Tavera at Barsoo on January 5, 2013 succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS-Soura today.
A Santro Car bearing registration number JK05B/1691 driven by Aqib Rashid Bhat, son of Abdul Rashid resident of Kralpora, Delina hit and injured a pedestrian Umer Shahzad Mir, age 25 years, son of Shahzad Ahmad resident of Deewanbagh at Degree College, Baramulla. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.
A Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK09/0405 on way from Kupwara to Drugmulla driven by Wali Mohammad Shah, son of Assadullah resident of Drugmulla, turned turtle, resulting in injuries to seven passengers travelling in the vehicle. All the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Kupwara for treatment, one of them was referred to SKIMS- Soura, Srinagar for further treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.
