Accounts employees discuss issues

JAMMU, July 14: J&K Accounts Employees Association (Jammu province), has urged upon the higher authorities in the Finance Department to resolve pending issues of the Accounts employees.
A meeting of the Association was held here today under the chairmanship of its president, Kamal Singh Pathania. The members threadbare discussed the pending issues of the employees. The members referred to the manhandling of Assistant Accounts Officer, Deepak Sharma, working in the PHE City Division-I Jammu, by the daily rated workers of the department on 9-4-2019. They said the Chief Engineer PHE had ordered an inquiry into the matter and submit report within one week but the report has not been submitted till today. In another case at District Treasury Office Doda, Additional Treasury Officer was manhandled and threatened by the contractors on May 16, 2019 but no action has been taken so far in this case.
They said there was strong resentment among the employees over inaction. They also demanded that many posts were lying vacant but promotion orders of AAOs and AOs have not been issued since long. Many officers are at the verge of retirement.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included – Adarsh Sharma (VP), Shiv Paul Singh ( gen secy), Sanjay Pandoh, Mehboob Choudhary, Rakesh Sharma, B B Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar, Rakesh Kashyap and Kulbir Singh.
