JAMMU, Mar 30: An accused involved in attempt to murder case escaped from police custody. However, Police Department has initiated a departmental action against delinquent officials after his escape from the custody.
As per police sources, on March 15 this year, an accused identified as Mohammad Anwar alias Elahi, son of Shafi Bashir of Sanasar, at present Babliana was arrested in a case registered under FIR Number 54/19 under section 307, 452, 323, 504 and 34 RPC with Police Post Satwari.
The said accused was lodged in lock up at Police Post Gadigarh on police remand, from where he managed to escape.
A fresh case under FIR Number 62/19 under section 223 and 224 RPC has been registered at Police Station Satwari and hunt has been launched to nab the accused.
Furthermore, departmental action has been initiated against delinquent officials.
