Accused facing trial in fake currency case acquitted

JAMMU, Nov 19: Principal Sessions Judge Kartar Singh today acquitted Adeep Singh, son of Amar Singh of Sector 3 Nanak Nagar, who was facing trial in the fake currency case, and issued General Arrest Warrants against Pardeep Singh, brother of the accused.
According to the police case, on March 5, 2001 Adeep Singh purchased LML Vespa from M/s JK Auto Mobiles on payment of Rs 30000. The amount paid by him was later found to be fake.
During investigation, police arrested Adeep Singh along with his co-accused and brother Varinder Singh. From the possession of Adeep Singh, police recovered six counterfeit notes of Rs 100 each and he during interrogation confessed that he was having counterfeit currency notes valuing Rs 76000.
He further disclosed that counterfeit currency notes were brought by his two brothers Varinder Singh and Pardeep Singh from Narwal Transport yard through some Pakistani ISI Agent. Accordingly, Varinder Singh was also arrested.
After hearing Public Prosecutor Shabir Choudhary for the State whereas Advocate Ravi Dogra for the accused person, Principal Sessions Judge Kartar Singh observed, “from the evidence the conclusion is irresistible that there is not an iota of incriminating evidence against the accused. The court is left with no other option but to acquit the accused Adeep Singh”.
“The accused Adeep Singh is, therefore, acquitted of the charges framed against him. The file after its due compilation be consigned to records and shall be retrieved from the records as and when absconding accused Pardeep Singh is produced in execution of warrants under Sections 512 CrPC initiated against him or he surrenders on his own”, the court said.
