JAMMU, Dec 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Police in Pacca Danga area have successfully arrested an accused in an assault case from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi while he was attempting to flee to Canada.
Simran Jeet Singh, the prime accused in a serious assault case, was intercepted at the airport after a Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued against him by the police, said a police official.
According to him, the assault occurred on December 19, 2024 in Panjtirthi, Jammu and was reported under FIR number 150/2024 at Police Station Pacca Danga.
The police official said that quick action by the police helped ensure that the victim received prompt medical care, preventing further harm.
Later, he said, a team of Pacca Danga Police Station led by SHO concerned Inspector Rakesh Singh, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police (SP) City North, Vivek Shekhar, coordinated closely with the immigration authorities and get an LOC issued by the SSP Jammu Joginder Singh to monitor all the immigration points, leading to the arrest of the accused from IGI Airport Delhi.
