Kargil, June 15, 2024: Assistant Commissioner Development, Kargil, Padma Angmo along with LRLM and RDD team visited Sapi Village and interacted with women households of Changyoul, Baltikhar and Marpole Village.
The visit was aimed to assess the development initiatives and empower women through LRLM schemes. Women households of Sapi Village were given awareness and sensitized about benefits under LRLM Scheme by the ACD.
Interest of women households in different trade was also assessed and accordingly directions were given to BPM LRLM by ACD to chalk out an intensive training plan for the women folk of Sapi in this summer season as per the convenience of villagers.
She emphasized the importance of women’s participation in economic growth and encouraged them to benefit from government schemes like LRLM and discussed with women that overall development is impossible without their participation.
The visit was also aimed to strengthen the government efforts in rural development and women empowerment. The villagers were assured to provide every possible support under the scheme and urged them to work collectively for individual and societal growth and development. Panchayat Secretary, Mohmmad Ali; Block Programme Manager, Zehra Batool; Sunil Sharma and local officials were present during the programme.
