JAMMU, May 8: The prominent Kashmiri Pandit scholars and intellectuals have shown serious concern over the role of some vested interests who are spreading canards within the community and floating misinformation among the people.
At a meeting here, today which was chaired by former Vice Chancellor, Central University, Jammu and chairman Advisory Committee, Durga Nag Trust, (ACDNT), Prof Ashok took stock of the developmental activities of the Trust and fully endorsed the steps taken by the Trust led by Vijay Bakaya its president and former Chief Secretary.
The meeting, was attended by VC Jammu University, Prof Manoj Dhar, Vijay Bakaya, Prof B L Zuthsi, Dr R L Dhar, M K Jalalai, Bihari Kak, C L Razdan, Kuldeep Raina and Avtar Krishan Bhat all trustees. Among the Advisory Committee members Prof G K Muju, H L Bhat, I K Raina , Sanjay Raina, M K Bangroo, Anil Bhat, Kamal Koul industrialist, B B Gosani, Pran Pandita, Rakesh Kaul, I K Koul, Pawan Raina were present.
Earlier Bakaya gave full account of working of Durga Nag Trust saying that work on development of holy shrine at Srinagar is going on under Smart City Project. He said all previous liabilities including power tariff arrears which had piled up into lakhs of rupees both at Srinagar and Jammu were cleared by the Trust management, besides land at Barnai was retrieved and properly fenced. He said a proper mechanism of accountability has been adopted by the Trust and three years audit report since 2018 has been received which will be thrown in public domain soon.
He assured the members that all steps will be taken for the development of holy shrine of Durga Nag which is the first halting stations of Swami Amarnath Ji yatra from times immemorial and its pristine glory will be maintained at all cost.
The Advisory Committee, while fully endorsing the steps taken by the Trust has urged the community not to be misled by false and malicious propaganda and assured full support to the Trust in its future endeavors.
