Acharya Vidhya Bhanu Shastri passes away

JAMMU, July 20: Popular in the city of temples for his unique style of reciting Vedic Hymns with spectacular rhythm, Acharya Vidhya Bhanu Shastri left for heavenly abode this morning due to sudden cardiac arrest.
Most of the people were surprised as the bad news about the passing away of great Vedic scholar went viral on social media.
Shastri Ji spent most of his life in Rehari Colony area of Jammu preaching Vedas and he pioneered in the activities of Arya Samaj like a missionary.
He was a renowned scholar possessing in-depth knowledge of Vedas, Geeta, Ramayan, Upanishads and many other religious books.
Shastri Ji was also a mentor of Arya Pratinidhi Sabha J&K and Sangarakshak of Arya Samaj Rehari Colony Jammu.
He remained very active in pleading the illegal encroachment of Arya Samaj educational institutions and temples in Kashmir by miscreants and was a known figure at national level in Arya Samaj world for the last five decades.
Originally a product of Guru Kul, Vidhya Bhanu Shastri had a distinction that his audience keenly listened to each word he uttered while explaining the meaning of Vedic Richas.
He even successfully accomplished classes of Vedic Sanskrit at Araya Samaj Rehari Colony and organised specialised rituals like Vrishti Yagya (to get rains) at Arya Samaj Rehari Colony which surprised all as at the time of Puran Ahuti it started raining heavily.
Presidents of all Arya Samajs and Arya Pratinidhi Sabah paid glowing tributes to this intellectual and prayed Almighty for eternal peace of the noble soul.
A handout of Arya Samaj stated that void created due to his sad demise will never be filled.
