SINGAPORE, May 27: Cloud-based data backup service provider Acronis is set to appoint agents in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai to market products in India.
“India is a big market for us. Opportunities abound for service providers, including backup, secure file access and sharing and disaster recovery solutions both in India and globally,” said Serguei Beloussov, chief executive officer of the Singapore-headquartered Acronis.
Acronis latest cloud backup solutions have been made available in Indian since last week and were launched in Singapore on Monday.
Beloussov said data backup demand, both in the Indian public and private sectors, is enormous, dating history back to Sanskrit and Aryuveda eras.
Acronis, which has 14 data centres across the world, is looking for industry-based agents with high-capacity data centres each in India’s three main cities.
“There will be huge demand for backing up data in each of the cities for serving the entire country,” Beloussov told PTI.
The agents would have to be complete service providers, he stressed.
Acronis Backup Cloud enables service providers to sell, manage and deliver high value data protection capabilities that create new revenue streams without a large upfront investment, he explained.
Acronis Backup Service provides local and cloud backup services with bare metal recovery to any destination or system in the event of a disaster, he said.
Acronis has provided reliable cloud backup since 2010, and recently opened data centres in Singapore, Japan and Australia to complement those in the United States, France, Russia and Germany. (PTI)
