JAMMU, Jan 13: J&K National Panthers Party (JKNPP) leader, Rajesh Padgotra has demanded promotion of police constable, Rajesh Kumar Sharma as Inspector in J&K Police for his act of bravery.
Addressing a press conference here today Padgotra regretted that while a DySP, recently arrested while travelling with terrorists, had been decorated with medals in the past, the unsung hero cop Rajesh Sharma was ignored while he had rescued a PSO Mohd. Hanief in March 2017 from three terrorists who had attacked him at Mandir-Masjid point near Tawi Bridge and had snatched his AK-47 before escaping.
“The third terrorist was overpowered by Rajesh Sharma after which other two terrorists were also apprehended later and the snatched weapon was recovered,” he told reporters and demanded President Medal for the act of bravery of Sharma.
