JAMMU, May 12: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Jayesh Gupta today asked the Government to act tough against corruption which is touching new heights across Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference here today, Jayesh Gupta alleged that the general public still has to pay hefty amount to Government offices and officials to clear the files in their respective offices.
“In 2014, when coalition Government was formed between BJP and PDP, we were told that slowly and steadily corruption will be eliminated. Even when Articles 370 and 35A were removed, we were told the same thing but instead of ending, corruption went up to higher level,” Gupta alleged.
He said people of J&K were told that when online system is completed, corruption will be completely wiped out of the system. “No doubt, the files are moving online from one table to another table bit fast but still there is a lot of corruption in the system on which LG administration is not taking care of” the AAP leader added.
Gupta said, “Today mining contracts are given to the outsiders due to nexus. Corruption is there due to which general public have to buy the expensive construction material. Recruitments are getting cancelled after 6 months. This is all happening because of the corruption.”
