JAMMU, Apr 11: The Department of Drugs & Food Control Organization carried out surprise checks in various localities of Jammu district.
Inspection of more than 60 establishments was carried out and action against 10 firms was initiated for committing breaches of the provisions of Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 & rules.
These establishments included M/s Mahaveer Medicate, Janipur Colony; M/s Satguru Medicos, Sarwal ; M/s Maa Care Medicate, Sarwal; M/s Madho Lal Zindal Lal, R N Pura ; M/s Magotra Medical Agencies, Mohalla Paharian; M/s Jammu Pharmaceuticals, Mohalla Paharian, Jammu; M/s Shivangi Medicate , Kachhi Chawni; M/s Satisar Enterprises, Janipur Colony ; M/s Aar Bee Pharmaceuticals, Mohalla Paharian; M/s Krishna Enterprises, Mohalla Paharian, Jammu. The Licensing Authorities served show cause notice to the firms found committing breaches of the provisions of the above law.
Moreover, statutory drug samples of more than 40 formulations viz Antibiotics, Proton Pump Inhibitors, Steroid, Anti Inflammatory, Analgesic etc were drawn to check the identity, strength and purity. These samples have been dispatched to Drug Testing Laboratories for framing opinion.
