Activities of drug peddlers on rise in Satwari: SWA

JAMMU, Feb 9: Alleging that the activities of drug peddlers are on rise in Satwari area, Social Welfare Association (SWA), Block Satwari, requested the police authorities to take appropriate action to curb these activities in the area and prevent the youth from getting indulged in these illegal activities.
The issue came up for discussion during a meeting of the association held today under the chairmanship of Sushil Sudan, president, SWA, Block Satwari.
The meeting discussed in detail the issues related to drugs and its consequences. The meeting said that it has been observed that in recent days some non-locals including males and females were noticed in the area undoubtedly involved in drug peddling. The main locations where these activities are in swing are areas near Panchayat Ghar, Garden area (Tulip) and near PHC Bhour Camp.
The speakers said that the incharge, Police Post, Chatha, has also been informed about the same and requested to take appropriate action in the matter within a week time, failing which the residents will be left with no other option else to come on roads against the civil and police authorities.
