SAMBA, Oct 12: The famous cine star Rahul Roy, who is here along with Bolywood Director, Jaideep Chopra and Producer Iqbal Attarwala for promotion of the Movie 2016-The End showed total solidarity with the armed forces of the country saying he is fully behind the valiant jawans of Indian Army who at the cost of their lives ensure safety and security of the countrymen.
While talking to media persons at Hotel 17 Miles near here today, Roy said the prevailing situation on borders and killing of innocent people, besides attack on armed forces by terrorists coming from across the border demands India should show a united stand against it. Roy said he is Indian national first and then artist so he has all solidarity with armed forces as every citizen of India is safe and secure because the real heroes of the nation guard our borders.
Showering all praises for valiant jawans, he said the citizens of this nation and the film industry has the full confidence that they are safe and secure inside because of these real heroes are guarding our borders found the clock.
“The India should show united stand at this juncture and no one should give an impression that we are above the Government”. “The entire world as well as our country has been telling Pakistan to contain terrorism, so action and stand against terrorism should not be selective but united. Everyone should keep this in mind that country comes first and there should be no second thought about it”, he added.
Maintaining that it is his personal opinion, the Bollywood star said that there was no better place for shooting of films than J&K because the State has a charming scenery and beauty. Besides the people here are very good and industry used to come here for shooting without any hesitation in past.
Due to the un-conducive situation during past over two decades this trend stopped. But the industry people should now come here and besides shooting of films they can also promote the movies from here because every thing can’t be done from Mumbai only now as movies are being seen in other States also so industry has to come for their promotion outside the Mumbai too, he added.
Roy said that every where in India people want him to come and he is among the few artists who often visits J&K. “I am regular visitor of holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi,” he added.
The other members of the team also held interaction with media and talked about promoting the movie and thus shared their experiences and expectations from the cinema goers of the State. The interaction was especially significant as this was the very first time that Bollywood celebrities have formally entered the State especially the city of temples for the promotion of their commercial venture. The celebrities thanked the management of the hotel and the people of Jammu for their love and warm hospitality.
Later, the starcast along with the team hotel 17 Miles visited Wave Mall wherein they interacted and promoted the movie among the masses who had gathered in large numbers to have a glimpse of their favourite actors. The mall visitors turned nostalgic as both the stars Rahul Roy and Devendu Sharma sang and danced with the crowd on the hit numbers of the movie.
The evening came to an end with a lavish dinner hosted by management of the hotel in honour of the Bollywood starcast which was well attended by the social elite of the city, movie critics and fans and cinema goers. The celebrities appreciated all the efforts and hospitality of the organizers and looked forward for coming again to the City of Temples.
Speaking on the occasion, B.P.Bhalla, CMD Hotel 17 Miles wished the Bollywood movie “2016 The End ” all the success at the box office and thanked the team of the movie for partnering with Hotel 17 Miles for promotions in Jammu.
