Acute financial stress leads man to end life

UDHAMPUR, May 23: Apparent financial stress drove a man to end his life by hanging himself from a tree near his house in Tikri, here this morning.
The deceased was identified as Raman Pandoh (45), son of Jagdish Raj of Khanduie Seen Brahmna Udhampur. He was found hanging from a tree near his house.
According to Police, the deceased was apparently disturbed over his financial inability to meet huge expenses for medical treatment of his wife, who is purportedly suffering from acute liver problem since long. He had been doing some private job earlier and was unemployed presently.
This morning, the deceased left for a nearby temple on suggestion of his father and did not return home. Later his body was found hanging from a tree near his house. On being informed by some locals, a Police team, led by SHO Rehambal, Nishat Sumbria and Incharge Police Post Tikri, Sahil Singh Chib, rushed to the spot and shifted the body to District Hospital Udhampur for postmortem.
After completion of all the legal formalities and postmortem, the body was handed over to the family members for last rites. Rehambal Police have registered the case under Section 174 CrPC and further investigation is going on.1
