KATHUA, Oct 18: Despite passing of 26 hours on road at Lakhanpur since last evening, MP Simranjit Singh Maan is adamant to entre J&K as per his scheduled programme.
He was sitting in the middle of the road at Checking Barrier point on gateway of J&K in Lakhanpur here with his supporter where he spent last night.
Till last reports, the veteran leader was not ready to return to Punjab despite Section 144 imposed by district Kathua administration.
Both DC Kathua, Rahul Pandey and SSP Kathua R.C Kotwal requested Maan to return as the situation is not appropriate to visit J&K but the Sikh leader remained unmoved.
His supporter tried to fix a tent at the Dharna site to secure them from harsh weather but the administration stopped them from doing that in the middle of the road.
They also setup temporary tent and a Langer was also arranged there by them.
The UT administration has deployed police in adequate number and raised barricades and police vehicles to deal with any odd situation.
Supporters of Maan staged protest demonstration against J&K Govt for not allowing them to enter J&K.
Parminder Singh, SAD Amritsar leader claimed it as murder of democracy as an elected Member of Parliament is barred from moving freely in India.
The government on the other side said that J&K is integral part of India from where Article 370 has been removed.
Maan also wrote a letter to J&K LG, Manoj Sinha requesting him to intervene into the matter.
He was also also working on legal aspect to get justice.
