JAMMU, July 13: Adbi Kunj Jammu held a special creative meet on the different shades of the sharing musical personality of legendary Punjabi Singer Gurdas Mann at its literary centre today.
At the outset Aarash Dalmotra read out a special Dogri creative paper on the life of Gurdas Mann and his powerful works in the field of musical world. The paper contained Dogri translation of Punjabi songs of Gurdas Mann praising the eminent singer and his melodious voice. Many other speakers including M L Ganjoo Frisal, Subash Anand, Ved Uppal and Sham Talib also threw light on the various aspects of his musical journey as also as a film, stage and TV actor.
In the creative prose session a Dogri paper “Gurdas Mann-Te-Unday-Geet” was read out by Aarash Om Dalmotra and a sensitive Urdu short story “Main aur Tum” presented by Sham Talib. An Urdu paper on his teachers M L Ganjoo Frisal read out an Urdu paper “Mere Ustad”. In the musical and poetic round up Ved Uppal sang two Gurdas Mann’s Punjabi songs and his Punjabi Ghazal “Lokan Jad Barsae Patthar, Mere Hi Ghar Aaye Pattyhar” and an Urdu Ghazal “Sans Ghutti Hai Taza Hawa Chaihiye, Zindgi Baksh De Woh Dawa Chahiye”. In this session poets also recited Tarhi Ghazal on the given Tarhi Misra for the month of July. The opening Tarhi Verses was presented by Sham Talib as “Sar Jhukana Aa Gaya Hai Bandgi Mil Jaye Gi, Hai Yaquin Mujh Ko Bhi Meri Manzal Mil Jaye Gi”.
The other poets who recited their verses included M L Ganjoo Frisal, Subash Anand, Aarash Dalmotra, Ved Uppal, Sanjeev Talib, S K Gupta, P L Parihar, Rajeev Kumar, Raz Reyaz Sohil, Vinod Katib and Sham Talib.
The meet came to end with the vote of thanks by Chairman of Adbi Kunj, Aarash Dalmotra.
