JAMMU, July 12: Expressing their fear of getting targeted by terrorists in Kashmir, Prime Minister’s package and non package employees of various departments continued their protest under the banner of All Migrant Employees Association Kashmir (AMEAK) for 62th day in support of their demand of attachment with the office of Relief and Rehabilitation organisation at Jammu.
Holding placards in their hands, hundreds of these protesting employees were raising slogans in favour of their demand of immediate attachment with the Relief and Rehabilitations Commissioner’s Office at Jammu keeping in view their safety and security after recent target killings of Jammu based employees at their working places in Kashmir.
These protesting employees said that they were very worried and fear stricken after recent target killings and were not in the position to work in the Valley under the present environment. “We are feeling insecure and have fear of being killed,” said one of the protesting employees, Soni. She also said that it would be better for the Government to make their attachment  in Jammu to avoid the risk of being targeted again in near future.
Regarding their demand, they said that they were pinning high hopes on the present Government at the Centre and making an appeal to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah to mitigate their sufferings by addressing their demand bearing in mind the security concerns of the employees.
These protesting employees were also demanding instant release of their salaries as some of the DDOs so far have not released the salaries of the package and non package employees by citing one reason or the other. They cautioned such DDOs for stopping salaries of package and non package employees without knowing the fact that these employees have no other source of income except salary.
Meanwhile, the inmates of Pandit Colony Sheikhpora, Budgam in Kashmir Valley held a candle march in memory of their martyr Rahul Bhat who was killed by militants on May 12 in his office at Chadoora during broad day light.
They said that the sacrifice of Rahul will not go waste and accused the administration not paying attention in conceding the demand of package employees who are under the grip of fear after the minorities were made target by the militants and anti national elements in Kashmir.
