Adequate stock of PPEs, N-95 masks, sanitizers in GMC & AHs: Principal

JAMMU, Apr 3: Principal and Dean, Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals (GMC & AHs) Jammu, Dr Sunanda Raina today said that there is adequate stock of personal protective gears, N-95 masks, triple layer masks hand sanitizers, gloves and other material with them to meet the requirement of doctors, paramedics and other health workers.
Dr Raina said that the process of procuring more PPEs, masks, gloves and hand sanitizers is going on. She said the administrative department has already given directions to all head of the departments/institutions or Medical Superintendents to ensure that no doctor/health care workers is devoid of personal protective gears while discharging their duties, wherever such gears are recommended by Government of India.
“In Isolation Wards as well as sample collection, processing and screening areas (triage and respiratory clinic) as per the protocol desired, PPE kits are readily provided to the doctors who are on roster duty. In emergency area, N-95 masks, triple layer and protective gowns are provided. In routine areas, triple layer masks as and when desired are provided. Sanitizers as required are provided,” she said, adding, no one is deprived of any item when desired.
She said that the misinformation campaign being run by general public and some Government servants on efforts of the administration to combat COVID-19 pandemic is totally incorrect, she appealed them to desist from defaming the institution and adversely affecting the morale of the health care providers.
