JAMMU, May 9: A debate competition was organized by Civil Defence, Jammu under the aegis of Directorate of Homeguards, CD & SDRF J&K, Jammu at Government college for women parade, Jammu on the topic ”Care and preservation of water bodies and National treasures” today.
ADGP Hemant Kumar Lohia, Commandant General VHG, CD & SDRF J&K was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr. S.P. Sarswat, Principal of the Govt. College for Women Parade Jammu gave welcome address & Dy. SP Anita Pawar Dy. Controller Civil Defence Jammu made the introductory speech during the occasion. While addressing the participants, the chief guest appreciated the College authorities for their coordination in organizing the debate competition.
Professor, Vijay Lakshmi, ex. Principal, Govt. College for Women, Parade, Jammu, Professor Mamta Sharma, and Professor Raj Jamwal, Govt. College for Women Parade, Jammu were the Jury Members of the debate.
Twelve Students of the College participated in the debate competition in which Shiena Singh bagged 1st prize of Rs. 1500/-cash with appreciation certificate, Simran Shrama claimed 2nd prize of Rs 1250/- cash with appreciation certificate, Khushi secured 3rd. prize of Rs. 1000/- cash with appreciation and Divyakshi got consolation prize of Rs. 750/ cash with appreciation certificate.
Around 150 students took part in the symposium and Principal, Professors, teachers and staff were present in large number.
The prize and certificate of appreciations were distributed among the participant students by the chief guest. After the culmination of the debate, Dr. Parvez Ahmad presented the vote of thanks.
Besides SSP, Randhir Singh, Staff officer to Commandant General VHG/CD/SDRF J&K, Dr. Mohd Majeed Coordinator NSS Govt. College for women Parade, Jammu, Paramjit Kumar, Chief Warden Civil Defence, Jammu and Sh. R. Vijay Magotra, Dy. Chief Warden Civil Defence, Jammu were present on the occasion.
