ADGP Civil Defence reviews working of Wardens

JAMMU, May 5: Additional DGP and Commandant General VHG/Civil Defence and SDRF J&K, Hemant Lohia today chaired a meeting to review Civil Defence activities in Jammu.
The meeting was attended by Randhir Singh, Staff Officer to Commandant General, Anita Pawar, Deputy Controller Civil Defence Jammu, Paramjit Kumar, Chief Warden, Vijay Mangotra, Deputy Chief Warden, Vinod Kumar and Jagdish Kumar, Divisional Wardens and Swaran Singh Chib, Deputy Divisional Warden besides Post Wardens.
The Commandant General interacted with the CD wardens and appreciated the role of Civil Defence Wardens/ volunteers for their selfless services rendered for the cause of the general public. He urged the wardens to help the CD Department in formalizing the CD Committee near the border villages by seeking help of the various departments / social organizations so that people of the border areas can deal with emergency situations.
The Commandant General heard and redressed the grievances of the Wardens. He assured that department will establish two offices for CD wardens one at old City Jammu and one at south Jammu where CD wardens can carry out CD activities smoothly. He also assured that the Wardens posts will be strengthen and equipped with necessary equipments.
