SRINAGAR, Sept 14: Arrangements for one day Police Public Mela were finalized at a high level meeting of senior police officers held at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today. The meeting was chaired by Additional Director General of Police Headquarters (ADGP), S. P. Vaid. The event is all set to take off on September 20, 2015 (Sunday) at Bakshi Stadium here.
At the outset of the meeting, Mr. Vaid sought reports from all committees constituted for making different arrangements. The meeting was informed that all required arrangements have been completed and are fully prepared to conduct the mega event on the scheduled date.
Mr. Vaid stressed that in view of the people’s participation efficient arrangements should be ensured for their convenience and especially the parking of vehicles be ensured in a smooth manner. Traffic arrangements be made in a befitting manner so that people’s participation is made more convenient.
The meeting was briefed that more than 40 stalls representing all the regions of the State would be established at the venue. He said that entertainment programmes for the visitors and special items for the children including magic show would be the main attraction of the Mela.
Mr. Vaid disclosed that Mela would be inaugurated at 10 a.m. and Raffle Draw for fabulous prizes including cash prizes would be held at 4 p.m. in presence of public. He said that transparency in the Raffle Draw has made the event more attractive for the public, which would be followed strictly. The prizes would be handed over to the winners on the spot on the production of original tickets, Mr. Vaid added.
The ADGP emphasised upon the organizers that hygiene in and around the venue should be ensued and strict supervision should be made to check the sale of unhygienic food items during the Mela. He disclosed that special counters for sale of raffle draw tickets would be established at the venue on the Mela day.
Among others, the meeting was attended by ADGPs, VK Singh, SM Sahai, L Mohanti and Dr. B Srinivas, IGPs, AK Choudhary, HK Lohia, Deepak Kumar, MA Khan, Sunil Kumar, SA Watali, MA Ganai and JP Singh, DIGs, Viplav Kumar, SA Mujtaba, GH Bhat, Syed Kifiyat Hyder and Hilal Ahmed, AIGs, Sheikh Junaid Mahmood, Rajeshwar Singh, Tahir Sajad, Sheikh Zulfikar Azad and Kulbir Singh, SSPs, Shridhar Patil, Javaid Ahmed Koul, Mir Imtiyaz Hussain, Javaid Ahmed Mattoo and other police officers.
