ADGP Jammu asks officers to thwart nefarious designs of anti-national elements

JAMMU, Feb 13: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) has asked the police officers to strengthen their intelligence network to thwart the nefarious designs of the anti-national elements.
He made these remarks during his visit to District Poonch along with DIG RP Range, Dr Haseeb Mughal, to take stock of the security situation in the Border District.
As per a statement, the police officer interacted with the jawans of District Police Line Poonch, SOG, Armed Police and listened to their genuine issues and gave on-the-spot instructions to the range DIG and SSP to look into them on priority basis.
Thereafter, the top cop of Jammu held a security review meeting with the SDPOs and SHOs of Poonch, where he asked the officers to strengthen their intelligence network to thwart the nefarious designs of the anti-national elements.
He also laid stress on other issues like militancy, drug menace and working for the welfare of the society.
The press statement said that the ADGP Jammu also held a security review meeting with the Commander 6 RR, Brig Mandeep Singh, COs of the RR Bn, at 6 Sector Potha, Surankote, which was also attended by SSP Poonch, Rohit Baskotra and other officers. There, a threadbare discussion was also held on the security scenario of the area and the steps being taken to improve intelligence grid for better coordination and results.
The ADGP Jammu Zone, accompanied by DIG RP Range also held a security review meeting of the hinterland and border areas of District Poonch with the Commandant 93 Infanty Brigade Poonch which was also attended by SSP Poonch.
He also visited Chakkan-Da-Bagh and forward areas along the LoC to take stock of the ground situation.
