JAMMU, Nov 19: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, today chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the status of cases registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), 1967, in Jammu district.
The meeting, which was attended by senior police officials including the DIG Jammu-Kashmir Range, SSP Jammu, Senior PO ZPHQ Jammu, and all SDPOs of Jammu district, focused on evaluating the progress of investigations into UAPA cases, the filing of charge sheets, and the status of convictions.
During the meeting, ADGP Jain emphasized the need for a rigorous and professional approach in investigating UAPA cases.
He directed officers to ensure that all evidence is meticulously collected and properly documented to build strong, watertight cases.
He also stressed the importance of ensuring that charge sheets are filed within the stipulated time to expedite judicial proceedings.
In addition, ADGP Jain called for enhanced coordination with the Prosecution Department to ensure effective and timely prosecution of UAPA cases.
He also underscored the need to present compelling arguments and solid evidence in court to secure successful convictions.
The ADGP expressed satisfaction with the overall progress in UAPA cases in the Jammu district and commended the efforts of the police officers involved in investigating and prosecuting these cases.
He reaffirmed the importance of maintaining a high level of professionalism to ensure justice is served and unlawful activities are effectively curbed.
