JAMMU, Mar 9: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, today conducted a comprehensive review of the security and law and order situation in Reasi District.
Accompanied by DIG Udhampur-Reasi (UR) Range, Rayeed Mohammad Bhat, the ADGP Jammu was received by SSP Reasi, Mohita Sharma and her team of officers.
During the assessment, the ADGP Jammu laid special attention on providing proper security during the annual pilgrimage to the revered Shivkhori Shrine, a significant religious event that draws pilgrims from far and wide.
He stressed on conducting security drill of the shrine, preparation of the law enforcement agencies to manage the influx of the devotees besides maintaining law and order along the yatra route.
The police officer further directed for carrying out thorough checking of all the suspects so that no unwanted element is allowed to indulge in any kind of criminal activity prejudicial to the security of the area.
It was further directed to conduct joint security drill with CAPFs for security of the shrine and mentioned it as top priority of police of this jurisdiction.
He also stressed upon frequent verification and census of the migrants in and around Reasi town, besides checking the character antecedents of pony porters and other people entering the town to segregate the suspicious elements.
The ADGP Jammu also inaugurated the newly constructed Police Station Ramsoo besides visiting Police Station Pouni, where he checked the records and briefed all the jawans.
En-route, the ADGP also visited Police Post Bhambla, Police Station Pouni, and Police Station Reasi, along with DIG UR Range and SSP Reasi.
