JAMMU, Jan 13: In view of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations and VVIP visit, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, conducted a late-night security review on the intervening night of January 12-13, 2025, in the border districts of Samba and Kathua.
He was accompanied by senior officers, including Shiv Kumar, DIG JSK Range, Shobit Saxena, SSP Kathua, Virender Manhas, SSP Samba, and other key officials.
The ADGP reviewed the Border Management System, the current security scenario, and preparedness for the VVIP visit and Republic Day celebrations.
Emphasizing the importance of peace and security, Anand Jain directed all officers to remain extra vigilant and proactive, ensuring the Republic Day events are celebrated in a peaceful, free, and fair manner. Click here to watch video
Jain also highlighted the need for strong coordination among various security agencies to address any potential challenges.
He ordered the mobilization of additional forces in sensitive areas to prevent any untoward incidents.
The ADGP stressed the significance of intelligence gathering and the timely sharing of information to address security threats effectively.
During the review, the ADGP inspected the performance of ground-level security personnel, boosting their morale.
He also checked security arrangements at key border locations, including Sherpur Nala, Babbar Nala, Mawa, and Nandpur, urging officers to intensify joint Naka checking with the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Police.
Anand Jain further instructed officers to ensure high visibility in their jurisdictions, increase security patrols, and maintain effective law and order.
The ADGP emphasized the importance of community engagement and building trust between the police and the public to enhance cooperation in maintaining security.
DIG JSK Range, Shiv Kumar, briefed the ADGP on the current security situation and the measures being taken to ensure peace and law enforcement across the region, especially in the lead-up to Republic Day 2025.
