JAMMU, Oct 14: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, today chaired a meeting at Zonal Police Headquarters, Jammu, to review the preparations for the upcoming National Police Day, also known as Police Commemoration Day, observed annually on October 21.
The day honours the memory of 10 CRPF personnel who sacrificed their lives during the 1959 Chinese invasion at Hot Spring, Ladakh.
As per a statement, the main function will be held at the Police Martyrs Memorial, Rail Head, Jammu, followed by a National Police Day Parade at Gulshan Ground.
During the event, tributes will be paid to police martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty for the unity and integrity of the nation.
A blood donation camp will also be organized at Gulshan Ground after the parade.
ADGP Jain emphasized the importance of ensuring robust security and logistical arrangements for the smooth conduct of the event.
He instructed officers to raise public awareness about the significance of the day and urged for the participation of police personnel and the public in large numbers to honour the sacrifices of the martyrs.
The meeting was attended by senior police officers, including DIG IRP Range Jammu, commandants of various IRP battalions, SSPs of different police wings, and other officials.
