ADGP Jammu reviews security arrangements for Kailash Kund Yatra

JAMMU, Aug 27: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, today reviewed the security preparations for the annual Kailash Kund Yatra that is set to begin soon in Udhampur-Doda hills.
As per a statement, the review meeting was attended by senior police officers, including DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Rayees Mohammad Bhat, SSP Udhampur Amod Nagpure, SSP Reasi Gaurav, Additional SP Udhampur Sandeep Bhat and other district police officials.
ADGP Jain stressed the importance of careful planning and strong security measures to ensure the safety of pilgrims.
He instructed all agencies involved to work closely together to address any challenges that might arise during the yatra.
He emphasized the need for adequate manpower deployment at key points along the yatra route, additional checkpoints, and increased patrolling to prevent any incidents.
The ADGP also reviewed arrangements for medical assistance, communication facilities, and disaster management. He directed officers to arrange emergency medical teams, ambulances, and helplines to assist pilgrims if needed.
In addition to security, ADGP Jain highlighted the importance of maintaining public order and managing traffic smoothly during the yatra.
The meeting also discussed provisions for dry rations and winter clothing for personnel, the activation of the helipad, and the role of Village Defence Committees (VDCs) along the yatra route.
