ADGP Jammu reviews security measures for upcoming Assembly elections

JAMMU, Aug 31: In preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, today conducted a critical review of security and law and order strategies in Jammu district.
The meeting, held at the District Police Lines Conference Hall, was attended by key officials including DIG JSK Range Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, along with all territorial SPs, SDPOs, SHOs, IC PPs, and IC BPPs from Jammu district.
During the review, ADGP Jain underscored the necessity of maintaining peace and security throughout the electoral process.
He directed all participants to be vigilant and proactive to ensure that elections are conducted smoothly, fairly, and peacefully.
Emphasizing robust coordination between security agencies, Jain highlighted the need for addressing any potential challenges effectively.
Jain reviewed deployment plans, instructing the mobilization of additional forces in sensitive and vulnerable areas to prevent disturbances.
He stressed the importance of intelligence gathering and timely information sharing to counter any security threats.
The ADGP also assessed the district’s law and order situation, focusing on police readiness in terms of manpower, logistics, and resources.
He emphasized high visibility for police officers, with intensified security checks and patrols.
Community engagement was another key point of discussion. Jain urged officers to foster trust and cooperation between the police and local communities to maintain order during the election period.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to ensuring secure and orderly Assembly elections, with officers expected to provide continuous feedback and updates on the security arrangements.
