JAMMU, July 29: Ahead of Independence Day celebrations, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, today led a high-level meeting to review and enhance security arrangements in the Jammu district.
As per a statement, the meeting was attended by key officials from CAPF, intelligence agencies, police, the security wing, and civil administration.
During the meeting, officers provided a comprehensive overview of current security assessments and potential threats.
Discussions focused on inputs from intelligence agencies, the Army, CRPF, BSF, and CID to ensure a coordinated security strategy.
ADGP Anand Jain highlighted emerging trends in terror activities and stressed the importance of inter-agency cooperation to address these threats.
He emphasized the need to reinforce border deployments, secure police and Army establishments, and implement both offensive and preventive measures. The establishment of joint checkpoints at vulnerable locations and inter-district boundaries was also underscored.
In preparation for August 15, Jain called for heightened alertness and a focus on the peaceful conduct of the ongoing Amarnath Ji Yatra.
He instructed officers to maintain vigilance in border areas and the hinterland to thwart infiltration attempts and to counter the increasing use of drones by terror outfits.
The ADGP Jammu Zone also called for the strengthening of naka points on National Highways to monitor and control anti-social elements, urging officers to disrupt any terrorist activities. He directed the formulation of comprehensive security plans to ensure effective results.
The meeting included detailed discussions on Independence Day arrangements, with officers briefing ADGP Jain on security measures implemented in their respective areas to ensure a safe environment for the public.
Attendees included the DIG Armed/IRP Jammu, DIG Traffic, ACR Jammu, SSP Jammu, Commandant IRP 18th Bn Jammu, SSP Railway Jammu, SSP Security Jammu, SSP Traffic City Jammu, SSP CID SB Jammu, SSP APCR Jammu, SSP CID CI Jammu, among other officers.
