JAMMU, Dec 2: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, today visited District Doda, where he chaired a meeting of the police officers to review the status of the UAPA cases of the town and District Kishtwar.
The meeting was attended by senior police officers, including Shridhar Patil, DIG DKR Range; Sandeep Kumar Mehta, SSP Doda; Javaid Iqbal, SSP Kishtwar; and all Gazetted Officers of Doda and Kishtwar.
During the meeting, the ADGP assessed the progress of investigations, prosecution efforts, and legal compliance of various ongoing cases.
He reviewed the status of the cases on a case-by-case basis and evaluated the investigative progress to ensure timely collection of evidence and filling of charge-sheets in all the cases.
The police officer also directed the officers participating in the meeting for strengthening of the legal processes, maintenance of strict adherence to UAPA provisions to ensure successful prosecutions besides ensuring a strong inter-agency coordination.
He further instructed the officers to expedite trials and secure convictions in UAPA cases, besides working on actionable strategies devised to overcome challenges in evidence collection.
The ADGP also outlined the investigation guidelines for the investigating officers (IOs) for enhancing efficiency, maintaining transparency, and prioritizing cases of sensitive nature.
The meeting concluded with the participating officers and IOs assuring to ensure convictions in all the UAPA cases.
